Getting stuck in for Raetihi & Ruapehu

How You Can Help

Every contribution matters, no matter how small. Here's how you can be part of the change

Volunteer Your Time

This is where the magic happens. Come to a working bee, help at an event, or join us for a regular session. Whether you can spare an hour a month or every Saturday morning, your mahi makes a difference.

  • Garden maintenance days
  • Event setup and support
  • Workshop facilitation
  • Admin and coordination

Share Your Skills

Got knowledge worth passing on? We're always looking for people to run workshops or mentor others. Carpentry, art, gardening, cooking, sewing—whatever you know, someone wants to learn it.

  • Teach a skill-share session
  • Help at repair cafés
  • Mentor young people
  • Share your expertise

Support Our Mahi

Running on passion is great, but seeds, tools, and materials cost money. Financial donations or in-kind contributions help us do more. Every koha, big or small, goes directly to community projects.

  • Financial donations
  • Tools and equipment
  • Seeds and plants
  • Building materials

Spread the Word

Tell your mates, share our posts, bring someone new to an event. The more people who know what we're up to, the stronger our community becomes. Word of mouth is powerful stuff.

  • Follow us on social media
  • Share our events
  • Bring friends along
  • Tell your story

Partner With Us

Are you a business, organization, or iwi looking to support community initiatives? Let's work together. Partnerships help us reach more people and tackle bigger projects.

  • Corporate volunteering
  • Sponsorship opportunities
  • Project collaborations
  • Resource sharing

Pitch an Idea

Got a vision for something that could benefit our community? We're all ears. The best projects come from people who see a need and want to do something about it. Let's make it happen together.

  • Community project ideas
  • New workshop topics
  • Event suggestions
  • Collaboration proposals

You'll Be in Good Company

Don't worry if you've never volunteered before—neither had most of our crew when they started! We're a friendly bunch who believe in helping each other learn as we go. From teenagers to retirees, tradies to teachers, we're united by a simple belief: community is built by showing up.

You don't need special skills or experience. You just need to be willing to have a go, get your hands dirty, and enjoy a good laugh along the way. We provide the tools, the guidance, and plenty of tea breaks. You bring yourself—that's more than enough.

"I came for the gardening, stayed for the people. Best decision I've made in ages!"

— Sarah, Regular Volunteer

"Never thought I'd enjoy getting covered in mud. Turns out, it's the best therapy going."

— Mike, Saturday Gardener
